Death, Can You Save Me?

Writer's picture: Thando XabaThando Xaba

What if I left this Earth?

Will I enjoy Paradise?

But how will I know I am in Paradise?

I do not remember who I was 30 years ago.

I do not remember who I was 300 years ago.

I do not remember who I was 3000 years ago.

I do not remember who I was when I was in my mother’s womb.

I do not remember who I was when I was conceptualised in Heaven.

Oh no, I do not remember who I was so I do not remember the pain.

What if I leave this Earth only to relive the horror of today with a new consciousness?

What if Satan had asked the Lord to torture me for three lifetimes?

No.

Death is not the answer.

Death cannot save me.

The cup is bitter but it is mine to drink.

Leaving this Earth will not save me from myself.

Nothing can.
